FAQs
For Families
Do your nannies and babysitters have all checks?
Yes, all of our nannies and babysitters have been screened, interviewed face-to-face and background checked to ensure they have their Working with Children Check or Blue Card (QLD), current First Aid certification, impeccable references and at least two years paid experience working with children. When you book a Lovely Nanny or Babysitter you have complete peace of mind that your children are in the very best care.
How do you select your nannies?
All of our nannies and babysitters go through a comprehensive recruitment and selection process before they are engaged by our agency. We meet face-to-face with every nanny or babysitter that applies to work with us and complete a thorough background check that examines their Working with Children Check or Blue Card (QLD), First Aid certification, qualifications and references.
How do I book a nanny or babysitter?
If you are looking for a permanent nanny to support your family on an ongoing basis for three months or more, please complete our permanent nanny enquiry form so that we can get to know your family and understand your needs. We’ll then take you through our personalised, obligation-free consultation to begin the process of finding a Lovely Nanny that will best fit your family.
For temporary nanny care and once-off bookings, please complete our online booking form.
To book an evening babysitter, please complete our online booking form.
Who pays the nanny?
For temporary nannies and evening babysitter bookings, you pay us a booking fee and you pay your temporary nanny or babysitter directly by cash or bank transfer. The carers are self employed and responsible for their own tax affairs.
For permanent nanny placements, it’s your choice whether you pay your nanny directly or engage with NannyPay payroll service.
What if my temporary nanny or babysitter is sick and cancels?
Do not fear, if the carer we have arranged for you needs to cancel her booking, then we will do our best to find a replacement for you.
Do I need to take out insurance?
It is recommended that you have insurance to cover your nanny in the event of injury whilst working with your family. Some home insurance policys cover domestic workers.
Are there any upfront fees or booking fees?
For temporary nannies or babysitters the only fee payable to us is a booking fee. Please find the list of fees here.
If you would like us to professionally recruit a permanent nanny that matches your family and needs, we require a non-refundable $150.00 + GST fee upon engagement and a non-refundable $300.00 + GST recruitment fee upon providing a high quality shortlist of suitable nannies for you to interview.
What happens if we are not happy with our nanny?
We have an incredible track record of happy clients and nannies. Our personalised recruitment approach means our staff have matched you with the highest quality nannies to suit your family. For permanent placements we encourage you to trial your preferred nanny to ensure they are a great fit. After the trial is complete, a job offer has been made and the start date is agreed, you have two weeks to change your mind and have us help you find another nanny.
If you are not comfortable with a nanny we have arranaged for you on a multi date temporary booking, then we will arrange a different nanny for you for the remaining dates.
Can we clam the Child Care Benefit and/or the Child Care Rebate when we engage a nanny through you?
Unfortunately, the Australian Government Child Care Benefit (CCB) and Child Care Rebate (CCR) does not apply to nanny services.
What locations within Australia do you service?
We provide a professional nanny service and babysitting service to families in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Tasmania, Byron Bay, Northern NSW, Gold Coast, Central Coast and Sunshine Coast
