A professional and loving family in Balmain are seeking a positive and engaging nanny to assist with the household and care for their 3 happy and active children (12 yr old boy, 10yr old girl and 7 yr old boy).
A mature nanny with life experience, organised and able to work off own initiative with minimal instruction, ability to see tasks that will help the household run well. You will also need to be able to work with the children’s routines and have organisational skills to manage the busy afternoons with experience supporting children to manage afternoon activities and homework.
Reliability, communication skills and professionalism are also valued. Strong English skills are required for good communication.
The role will mostly consist of arriving at the home to complete light household tasks, run errands, pick up the children from school, take to activities, engage with, have a break and then work on homework and prepare the evening meal.
The family are seeking a nanny who has a strong desire to engage with the children and build a relationship with each of them. Looking for someone who will assist in creating structure and a positive environment within the home.
The carer’s responsibilities for this role will be as follows –
- To supervise the children
- Follow the children’s routine
- Pick up from school
- Engage with the children
- Light household duties – ie Leaving the kitchen and dining area clean at the end of every day, vacuuming, changing the children’s beds once a week, tidying rooms, shopping for occasional items (the family usually have a weekly shopping delivery on a Sunday ahead of the week), general tidying and family laundry
- Meal planning and cooking for the children
- Take to after school activities ie swimming, soccer, dance
- Assist with homework
Start date: ASAP
Contract: Permanent/long term
Pay: From $40 per hour depending on experience
The days and normal hours are –5 days -30 hours per week
Mon – Fri
Some flexibility on start and finish times for the right candidate.
Note: Full Drivers Licence required (Own car to get to work and family vehicle to be used whilst at work).
The family’s expectations from their nanny are –
- Must have a minimum of 3-5+ years nanny or household manager experience
- Have a current first aid certificate
- Have a current working with children’s check number
- Display strong communication skills and speak good english
- Full licence/good driving record (no provisional licences)
- Fit, healthy, active and energetic
- Non smoker/vaper
- A good/confident cook would be ideal, but an interest in cooking and nutrition and ability to follow recipes (at a minimum)
