Hours: 40 hrs per week – 10am to 6pm or 9am to 5pm each daySeeking a proactive, upbeat and organised Family Assistant / Carer to provide support for two teenage girls and to help manage the household in Clovelly, Sydney.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with older children in a mentor-like capacity, can take initiative in household management, and loves being part of a kind, socially minded, and progressive family environment.

About the Role

The nanny will play a key role in household organisation, meal preparation, errands, and after-school support. The two teenage girls are independent and engaged in activities, so the role is a mix of mentorship, light supervision, and helping to keep everything running smoothly.

Typical Day:

  • Morning: The parent will handle the morning routine and school drop-off. The nanny starts at 10 AM and focuses on house tasks, cooking, or shopping.
  • Afternoon: Children return home around 4 PM—the nanny may assist with sport drop-offs or homework as needed.
  • Evening: Help with meal preparation and ensuring the household is organised for the next day.

Responsibilities:

Household & Meal Preparation

  • General household organisation, shopping, laundry, and cooking.
  • Preparing nutritious meals, considering one child is a bit fussy while the other is open to all foods.
  • Keeping the kitchen tidy, stacking/unpacking the dishwasher, and managing basic household tasks.
  • A cleaner comes in weekly, therefore no heaving cleaning required

Childcare & Family Support

  • Providing mentorship and guidance to two teenage girls.
  • Assisting with homework (if needed) and supporting their school routines.
  • Potentially driving to after-school activities (e.g., netball).
  • Encouraging independence and responsibility while being a positive role model.

Transport & Errands

  • Driving is required, but the nanny does not need to have their own car.
  • A family car is available for use when needed, or Ubers can be arranged.

Pets

  • The family has two mini dachshunds, but they attend doggy daycare 4 days a week. The nanny may need to occasionally walk them when required.

Expectations:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Have a current first aid certificate (or happy to obtain one)
  • Have a current Working With Children’s Check
  • Display strong communication skills
  • Non smoking
  • Full and clean drivers license

This is a fantastic long-term role for someone looking to be part of a warm and supportive family. If you love working in a dynamic household and would enjoy providing mentorship and support to growing teenagers, we’d love to hear from you!
