Kew, Victoria Part Time Nanny/Mothers Helper

Start date: 7th Jan 2025 (Flexible for the right candidate)
Contract length: Long Term/permanent
Pay: $40-45 per hour (ABN required)

A loving family in Kew, Victoria are seeking a an experienced, energetic and active nanny/mothers helper to assist in the care of their children ( Aged 3 and 18months). The family will also welcome a new baby in March. (Initially there won’t be much care needed for the newborn but the focus will be on older two children on the Tues and then helping out around the home on the Wed, over time the role will evolve as more care will be needed for the younger baby).

The normal days are: 2 days per week
Days & hours are:
Tuesday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Wednesday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

There is also the opportunity to join the family on holidays in the future (paid of course).

An ideal nanny would be warm, caring and responsive. A nanny that is also friendly, happy, energetic and is interested to actively engage in indoor and outdoor activities with the children which will aid in their growth and development.

The family is looking for someone who is organised, who can take initiative when it comes to duties around the home, is trustworthy, responsible and reliable and is able to care for the children and household throughout the day.

Prior extensive experience/professional qualifications working with young babies/children is highly advantageous for this role.

The family are seeking a nanny who will build a lovely warm relationship with the whole family and stay on a long term basis.

The carers responsibilities for this role will be as follows:

  • To care for the children
  • Follow the children’s routine
  • Play and engage age appropriate activities to assist in the children’s development
  • Take the children to activities, walks to the park/playground
  • Light house hold chores – Initially while whilst the baby is still young the Wednesday will be primarily a day to do house duties (Older children will be at daycare). Duties will include washing (ironing, folding, putting away), cooking, putting away shopping, organising (wardrobes, cupboards, playroom), tidying, and running errands.
  • Prepare /cook basic family meals and children’s snacks

The family’s expectations from their nanny are:

  • 5+ years of experience as a nanny or working in child care
  • Childcare qualifications preferred
  • Young baby experience
  • Have a current first aid certificate (or happy to obtain one)
  • Have a current Working With Children’s Check
  • Display strong communication skills and speaks English
  • Non smoking
  • Full drivers license and clean driving record (Own car – kms and petrol to be reimbursed)
  • Comfortable with cats and dogs (dog walking may be required)
