A professional and loving family in Vaucluse, NSW are seeking a warm and patient nanny to help with the household and care for their four active children (girls aged 12, 13, 16 years and a boy aged 4 years).

An ideal nanny will be kind, calm, nurturing, and patient.

 

Someone who is bubbly and active and able to follow the children’s routines, encourage them to do their homework, keep them on track, and able to assist with the smooth running of the household.

Empathy, honesty, respect, reliability and clear communication skills are also valued.

The role will mostly consist of arriving at the house to walk the dog, prepare snacks, pick the youngest up from school (the older children walk home), assist Mum with taking the children to various activities (horse riding and the stables are a big part of the the children’s lives along with a few other extracirruclar activities) then home to help prepare dinner, assist with homework, and start the evening / bedtime routine.

 

The carer’s responsibilities for this role will be as follows –

  • To care for the children
  • Follow the children’s routines
  • Pick up the youngest from school
  • Afternoon activities / play
  • Prepare meals and occasional cooking, preparing of lunches
  • Encouraging the children to do their homework
  • Tidying up after the children and clearing the kitchen
  • Grocery shopping and running errands required at times

Start date: Early September 2024 

Contract length: 12+ months / long term preferred 

Pay: $35 – $40 per hour depending on experience

 

The days and normal hours are – 5 days – 25 – 35 hours a week

More hours available throughout the school holidays 

Monday – Thursday                      2pm – 8pm

Friday                                              12pm – 8pm

The family’s expectations from their nanny are –

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years nanny or childcare experience
  • Childcare qualification (preferred but not essential)
  • Have a current first aid certificate (or happy to obtain one)
  • Have a current Working with Children Check
  • Display strong communication skills and speak English
  • Basic cooking skills
  • Full driver’s licence and clean driving record (own car preferred)
  • Comfortable with animals (the family have a small dog)
