Start Date: ASAP (Flexible)
Contract Term: 12 months or longer
Pay: From $40 per hour - additional reimbursement for kms/petrol

Days: Monday to Friday
Hours: 2:30pm – 5:30pm

The Role

This lovely family is seeking a kind, patient and experienced nanny to provide afternoon care for their 3-year-old son, five days per week.
The primary focus of the role is caring for the 3 yr old. The nanny will collect him from daycare each afternoon, bring him home and spend the remainder of the afternoon engaging him in play, preparing dinner and supporting his afternoon routine, including bath time.
The older child is autistic and has additional support needs. Mum will generally be responsible for supporting him during the nanny's hours. There may occasionally be brief periods where the nanny is asked to supervise both children while Mum attends to something in the home, such as getting changed or putting laundry on. However, the nanny will not be expected to provide sole care or be responsible for his additional support needs.
The family is looking for someone who is compassionate, patient and understanding, with the ability to create a calm, fun and relaxed environment for both children.

Role Responsibilities

Collecting the 3yr old from daycare each afternoon
Driving the child home, approximately 7 minutes from the family home
Preparing dinner for the family/children- Simple meals
Putting on and folding laundry as required
Engaging the child in age-appropriate play
Supporting the child with his afternoon routine
Bathing the child
Providing occasional brief supervision of both children while Mum attends to tasks within the home
Maintaining open and honest communication with Mum

Requirements

A childcare qualification is required
3+ years previous professional nanny or childcare experience
Experience supporting or working around children with additional needs would be highly regarded
Current Working With Children Check
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Excellent references
A full driver's licence and own reliable vehicle are required
