The Family

A warm, welcoming family based in Lilyfield, NSW are seeking an experienced, caring and engaging nanny to care for their two boys, aged 9 and 4 years.
The family are looking for a long-term nanny who will become a trusted part of their household. They value authenticity, kindness, generosity and respect, and strive to create a home where everyone feels safe to be themselves. They are seeking a nanny who is down-to-earth, friendly and able to create a calm, nurturing environment while matching the energy and enthusiasm of their boys.

The Role

The primary focus of the role will be caring for the family's youngest son throughout the day, allowing him an additional day at home instead of attending childcare. At 3:00 pm, the nanny will collect his older brother from school, located just 500 metres from the family home.
The family are looking for someone who enjoys spending time outdoors and can provide a balance of active play, learning and fun experiences. The day may include visits to local parks, nature exploration, play centres, occasional excursions, cooking together, reading, and other age-appropriate activities that encourage curiosity and development.
Duties will include:

Providing attentive care for the 4-year-old throughout the day
School pick-up for the 9-year-old at 3:00 pm
Planning engaging, educational and age-appropriate activities
Encouraging outdoor play, exploration and active learning
Reading and supporting early literacy development
Assisting the older child with reading homework
Preparing healthy dinners for the boys (no dietary requirements apart from typical fussy eating)
Teaching basic cooking skills and encouraging healthy eating habits
Keeping the children's bedrooms, play areas and belongings clean and organised
Washing the boys' bed linen each week
Walking the family's small, friendly senior dog in the morning and afternoon if time permits

The family are looking for a nanny who is:

Calm and able to create a relaxed environment where the children feel safe and supported
Proactive, organised and reliable
Passionate about encouraging learning through play and everyday experiences
Comfortable around dogs and happy to include the family pet in the daily routine

Requirements

Minimum 3 years' professional nanny or childcare experience
Current Working With Children Check
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
Full driver's licence
Own reliable vehicle
Excellent references
Full working rights in Australia
Non Smoking
Childcare qualifications are desirable but not essential
