Part Time Nanny – Port Melbourne, VIC

Start Date: 2 September 2026
Contract Term: Long-term / Permanent
Pay: $45 per hour

Normal Days: 3 days per week- 6 hours per day
Days & Hours:

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
Hours are flexible, with an ideal start time between 8:30 am to 10:00 am (6 hours per day).

Please Note: The role will commence with 2 days per week throughout September, increasing to 3 days per week from October.

The Family

A warm and welcoming family based in Port Melbourne, VIC are seeking an experienced, nurturing and engaging nanny to care for their happy 9-month-old son.
The family are looking for a long-term nanny who will provide attentive, developmentally focused care while creating a safe, stimulating and loving environment. Mum works from home in a separate room and is looking for someone confident working independently while keeping her little one happy, engaged and thriving.

The Role

The nanny's primary focus will be providing quality care for the baby throughout the day, supporting his development through play, exploration and age-appropriate activities.
The family would love someone who enjoys storytelling, singing and interactive play, helping to foster language development, curiosity and confidence during this important stage of infancy.
Typical duties will include:

Providing attentive and nurturing care for the baby
Planning engaging, age-appropriate developmental activities
Reading stories, singing songs and encouraging language development
Supporting naps, feeding routines and general daily care
Preparing and assisting with the baby's meals and feeding
Taking the baby to local activities such as Wednesday playgroup and Rhyme Time when appropriate
Baby-related laundry as required
Maintaining a clean and organised play environment

The Ideal Nanny

The family are looking for a nanny who is:

Warm, friendly and nurturing
Open-minded and easy to communicate with
Experienced and confident caring for young infants
Patient, engaging and passionate about early childhood development
Enjoys singing, storytelling and interactive play
Reliable, proactive and able to work independently while a parent works from home

Requirements

Minimum 3 years' professional nanny or infant care experience
Experience caring for babies under 12 months is essential
Current Working With Children Check
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
Full driver's licence preferred
Childcare qualifications are highly desirable
Excellent references
Full working rights in Australia
Non Smoker
