Nanny – Currumbin, QLD

Start Date: ASAP
Contract Term: Long Term – the family hopes their nanny will grow with them
Pay: $35–$45 per hour, depending on experience
Days: 4 days per week

Hours: Approximately 24 hours per week initially, with hours expected to increase next year
Ideal Days & Hours:

Tuesday: 11:00am – 3:00pm
Wednesday: 11:00am – 3:00pm
Thursday: 10:00pm – 6:00am
Friday: 10:00pm – 6:00am

Ideally the family is looking for two evenings, ideally on consecutive nights, although there is some flexibility around the days. The remaining two shifts will be half days from 11:00am–3:00pm, ideally on a Tuesday, Thursday or Friday.
The family understands that the combination of daytime and overnight hours is somewhat unusual and is happy to discuss the schedule with suitable candidates.
They are looking for someone who can commit to the role long term, with the opportunity for increased hours and responsibilities in 2027 as the children grow and the family's needs change.

The Role

This close and loving family in Currumbin, QLD are seeking a warm, gentle and experienced nanny to provide care for their 7-month-old baby.
The role is initially structured around two daytime shifts and two overnight stays each week. During the daytime shifts, the nanny will provide attentive and nurturing care, including feeding, interactive play and following the baby's routine.
The overnight component will involve staying at the family home and tending to the baby if he wakes throughout the night, allowing Mum and Dad to get some much-needed rest while continuing to work.
The family is hoping to find someone who will become a trusted and valued part of their family and grow with them long term.

Role Responsibilities

Providing warm, attentive and nurturing care for the baby
Engaging in interactive, age-appropriate play
Feeding and caring for the baby throughout the day
Following the baby's established routine
Settling and resettling the baby for naps and overnight sleep
Responding to the baby when he wakes overnight
Providing comfort and reassurance as needed
Supporting the baby's development through play, interaction and age-appropriate activities
Keeping the baby's areas tidy and organised
Completing light household duties while the baby is sleeping, where time permits
Building a strong and trusting relationship with the family
Increasing hours and responsibilities as the children grow

Childcare qualifications essential
3+ years previous professional experience caring for babies and young children
