A busy, loving family based in Wooloowin, QLD is seeking an experienced, energetic, and fun-loving nanny to assist in the care of their two young children, aged 4 months and 2 years. The family is looking for someone who can bring warmth, positivity, and a helping hand to their busy household, while creating a happy and engaging environment for their children.

The Role

This is a part-time position, working 1 day per week (8 hours):

  • Tuesday: 7:00am – 3:00pm
  • Flexible hours for the right candidate, with the potential for additional days in the future when mum returns to work later in the year

The role will involve working alongside mum while she is on maternity leave, supporting daily routines, and providing attentive, nurturing care. The ideal candidate will be confident, proactive, and genuinely enjoy engaging with young children in a meaningful and playful way.

Typical Day

  • 7:00am: Arrive and assist with the morning routine, including helping the children get dressed and supporting breakfast time.
  • 8:30am – 10:30/11:00am: Mum will take the eldest child out for one-on-one time, while the nanny remains at home caring for the baby and maintaining their routine.
  • 11:00am – 3:00pm: The nanny will care for both children, engaging them in age-appropriate activities and supporting their routines, while mum attends to household tasks and general commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive and nurturing care, following the children’s routines while supporting mum as needed
  • Engaging the children in fun and educational age-appropriate activities to support learning and development
  • Take the children on outings such as the park or library, as appropriate
  • Drive the children to activities where required

About You

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience as a nanny or in childcare
  • Childcare qualification (preferred)
  • Young baby experience essential
  • Warm, energetic, and engaging personality
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English
  • Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Non-smoker
  • Full driver’s licence (own car preferred; family car available if required)
  • Pet-friendly (the family has a Labrador, Morris, and a cat, Basil)
  • Musical ability is a bonus
